Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc) is a loyal follower of Michael. She was once human until she was burned at the stake. Gilles de Rais is determined to free her from Ecstasy. Jeanne was a former famous heroine who was turned into a loyal soldier for Heaven by Michael and is a general for his "Army of Salvation".
In the past, before being put under Ecstasy, Jeanne let her short hair down; only a section of it is braided. She was also modest in dressing, and wore battle armor that completely covered her. The armor had roses on its pauldrons, and a long cape.
Currently, Jeanne has her blonde hair pulled back into two buns, tied with braids and bows with a France flag design. She wears a sleeveless light pink and white dress with ruffles that goes down to her knees, and a choker with a rose on it. She also wears thigh-high socks. She is always seen with a smile and both her blue eyes have white crosses in them.
Jeanne has no personality besides her undying loyalty to Michael and her apparent dislike of spilling human blood. She has stated herself that she does not care about devils.
Before receiving Ecstacy, Jeanne was a brave compassionate leader of the army. She is also playful and happy no matter what and, since her debut, has been seen smiling.
In the past, Jeanne appeared to be very tactful and religious.
Role in the Series Edit
Jeanne is a minor character, and thus does not have many appearances. She is mentioned quite a lot, though.
She also appears in Pillar 34, in Gilles' flashback. It shows Gilles as witness to Michael administering Ecstacy to Jeanne, turning her into a smiling yet blank-faced 'doll'.
Jeanne is mentioned in episode 1, during the battle between Gilles and Dantalion.
Jeanne formally appears in episode 9, leading the attack on hell. She leaves in the beginning of episode 10, so her body will not decay.
Due to her strength and skills, she is slated to became an archangel on Michael's nomination.
It is unknown if Jeanne is loyal only to Michael, or Heaven in general.
In episode 9 of the Anime, Jeanne states that her body will decay if she stays in hell. Whether this is true or not is still in question. Though it could just be Jeanne's firm belief makes her think this way.
